The centerpieces of these Indian tapestries are original paintings based upon court miniatures of the Mughal and Persian schools of the 16th and 17th century. The paintings are mounted on priceless antique silk sarees. Most of the silk sarees and borders were handwoven more than a century ago. The intricacy of this workmanship can no longer be duplicated and these sarees are now prized by collectors. Each silk tapestry is unique.
